Functional requirements are always multifarious and require in-depth system knowledge to achieve optimum performance. As an example, an anti-blocking-system will require a minimum braking distance while maintaining maximum steerability. The vehicle state may be further taken into account to dynamically adapt the system behavior.
Ice, snow, wetness, road paving will affect the system by causing different wheel slip and thus require adapted slip boundaries. This is particularly important for off road action, as loose gravel will cause much more wheel slip than any tarmac.
It is a challenge to calculate the vehicle attitude in off road terrain. Quick changing inclination in all directions combined with sudden yaw movements are especially demanding. Under such conditions it is essential to provide the highest level of functional quality. Misinterpretation of the situation could be fatal.
Our concepts and logics are developed with such extreme situations in mind.
